Since the earliest days of my awakening to art, I've been stirred by the frankness of paintings created by the heroes of impressionism. In keeping with their zest, I enjoy exposing the framework of paintings that is most often obscured by "finish". My subjects of choice are events in the lives of people who take their livelihood from the sea or live at the waters edge, art about art; the dignity of work and ethic of labor that draw people to their occupations.
